This European Eagle Owl was seen on a lamppost in a residential housing estate off Lowercroft Road in Bury. There is no doubt that it was a captive bird that had escaped.

The bird was comfortable with the noise of the people around it.
You could see by the bones under the lampost that the bird was feeding well, and in good condition.. It stayed around for 6 days, then left.
