This juvenile was washed down the river, you can see he's found a small strip of land which divides the river.... He's looking at the bank which is impossible to climb.
Now he's in a "catch 22" situation, does he swim down the river in the hope of finding a way up, or just stay there.

Mother nature can be very cruel.
